Well, folks, this is it… the last photo recap of our wedding. Next, I’ll share with you our budget breakdown, and then it’s on to our Zihuatanejo honeymoon. After that, who knows!
My first detail recap showed you the people and accessories that gave celebration special warmth and feeling.
Today’s post focuses on some of the details that made our wedding unique: DIY projects, decorations, food and beverage, transportation, et cetera. I’ve picked lots of colorful photos to share each detail with you and, wherever possible, linked you to my past posts with more information or other external resources. Enjoy!

Today I’m delighted to share with you the first of two detail-oriented recap posts. These are sort of like recaps of the recap – focused on all the outfits, accessories, DIY projects, decorations, and edible/drinkable pieces of our wedding. Many of you have asked me questions about specific things that we wore, made, or did. Well, these detail posts are the best place to look for all that information, and to see new photos of all the little things that made our wedding day special.
Check it out!

What better way to finish my guest-photo posts than with some photographs of details from the day!
First, to set the mood, a shot of the Polebridge Mercantile, home of the Polebridge bakery (responsible for our cake and tartlets). This sight greets guests as they drive into Polebridge. You can see our tent in the field behind…
Our ceremony site was also set back and to the left of the mercantile, along the banks of a small creek and overlooking the peaks in the Northwest corner of Glacier National Park (hidden by clouds in the photo below)…

When we decided to have a non-officiant friend marry us (remember: anyone can marry you in Montana), I knew it meant that I would have to write our wedding ceremony, or at least contribute heavily to its creation. This was high on my list of “cons” relating to not hiring an officiant, but I very quickly came to enjoy that I had the power to wordsmith our ceremony in any way I wanted.
I want to share with you what writing our ceremony meant to me, the process I used to write it, and finally, our ceremony text.

Kat here with another quick and easy project for you!
This time, the idea is to make life a little easier for your wedding party. They’ll probably be carrying around big bouquets of live flowers for most of the day and will want to set them down somewhere. Why not give them a special place to put their bouquet aside?
These mason jars will keep the bouquet upright, to prevent damage to the flowers, and make it easy for them to find their own bouquet when they want it again. They can also keep the flowers alive a little bit longer by putting a little bit of water in the bottom of the jar.

After our Seattle Wedding Bee meetup in July, I stopped by the Paper Source in Bellevue to brainstorm programs. I had in mind that I wanted to just print two long, rectangular pages on cover stock, round the corners, punch holes in them, and secure them with ribbon. That would have been simple enough, but Paper Source tempted me with pre-punched khaki-colored backings (available in packs of 25 for $10) that would save me the hassle of buying a corner-rounder and the time of rounding 200 corners. Yes!
I got a couple of the khaki backings, some 8.5 x 11 paper in Luxe Cream, chocolate brown ribbon, and a tiny hole punch. I was all set to go.

It’s pre-wedding madness here is chez Kat & Justin, especially as we are leaving for Glacier National Park THIS FRIDAY and will be AWOI (Absent W/O Internet) until the wedding. Or at least mostly… I will schedule some posts to reach you and check in from the wi-fi friendly Montana Coffee Traders in Columbia Falls.
I’ve been working on a slew of DIY projects, most of which I’ve already blogged about (can lanterns,raffia-hanging jars, and favor tags, to name a few). But I’m not done yet! Today’s project is brought to you by this photo inspiration, which I have had forever on my hard drive:
It’s tiny, but the cursive message inside that lovely photo frame says “Please find your name.” I loved the look from the start, but I also thought it was a great way to give your guests directions when presenting them with something non-standard, as we are doing with our river rock seating “cards” and mailbox/vintage-postcard guestbook.
But I needed something more vintage and natural. So I turned to my local Michael’s Crafts for help.

Some of you asked me how to make the raffia’d jars I’m using in combination with my shepherd’s hooks for hanging candles and flowers. Well, here’s a little DIY instructional!
Step One
First, you choose your weapons. In this case raffia and jars… any size jar will work, really, as long as you have sufficient strength in your shepherd’s hooks and use enough raffia. In this case, I am using a 12-oz Ball jar from Wal-Mart…

Here’s an update on a few projects I delegated to our lovely friend, officiant, and artist, Cathy Weber. If you remember, Cathy has a wood shop and some funky tools. So she gladly helped us check a few things off our list…
One wood slice ring holder (to be adorned with white and/or burgundy ribbon)… Check!
